Wrapping up the Foxy Arc (Long Ring Long Land) with Episodes 217-219—last three of this wild ride!

Man… I love crew hangout moments. The Straw Hats just vibing on the ship, being a family—some of my favorite content. The comedy, the endearing chaos… it’s gold. But this arc? It’s been off. The Davy Back Fight dragged HARD with too many rounds, filler fluff, and forced confrontations. Luffy yelling “let’s go again!” after all that? Nah. If the anime trimmed the padding and got on with it, maybe it’d hit better. Officially not a fan of this arc—sorry to the lovers, y’all enjoy what you enjoy, no shame! I’m just sharing my first-time thoughts.

That said… the final captain face-off was pretty cool. Some solid moments, and that last image of them sailing into the sunset? Gorgeous. Breathtaking. Made me emotional. Pausing to appreciate the crew right now—how small the Going Merry looks, how tight they are. Who knows what we’ll look like in 200+ episodes? Bigger crew? Bigger ship? Logistics incoming lol. Usopp’s gonna feel some type of way if we replace Merry someday.

We’re safe now—no Government or big pirates hunting us yet—but we need a shipwright to fix Merry. Water 7 next? Hyped. Came off Skypia (legendary, so much lore), through G-8 filler (fun problems), now back on track. Problems will catch up soon—Whitebeard, Ace, Shanks, Blackbeard, Seven Warlords, Elders, Marines… the world’s opening up. Luffy’s Pirate King dream, Zoro’s greatest swordsman, Nami’s world map, Sanji’s All Blue, Chopper’s adventures, Robin’s Poneglyph quest, Usopp’s brave warrior goal—everyone’s chasing something huge.

We’re still babies on the Grand Line—tons left to uncover. Excited (and a little nervous) for Water 7. A few short filler arcs first (watching ’em all on Patreon—full SBS, covers, movies, bonus content, early access too).
