We open right into the aftermath of Big Mom’s tantrum. That “area of effect” rage mode where she doesn’t distinguish friend from foe? Terrifying. She straight-up devours sentient food creatures (tourists? hotel guests? animated snacks?) in a horrific rampage—blood splatters, screams, no cutaways. One Piece usually gives plausible deniability to violence (people just get knocked out), but this? Full-on showing teeth coated in juices, falling into her mouth… it’s levels above what we’ve seen. Either Big Mom’s crew has some insane devil fruit making food alive, or this is the series taking a darker turn. Either way, it hammers home how messed up she is—pure devouring mother archetype: gluttony, consumption, control, ownership. Everything belongs to her.

She blacks out during these episodes, doesn’t even remember the destruction. One second she’s in full tantrum, next she’s back to cutesy “oh this is tasty” mode like nothing happened. Creepy as hell. And when she sees the town “looking better than ever” and asks Jimbei if he did it? She’s either messing around or genuinely doesn’t know she caused the chaos.

Jimbei bringing the Road Poneglyph (and the tourists rubbing?) is huge—Robin can study it right here. Flashbacks remind us how earned Jimbei’s place feels. He’s got real resume, mentor energy with Luffy, experience outside the crew. Compared to some additions (Franky earned, Robin a bit disruptive to the formula, Brook fun but sudden), Jimbei fits so naturally. Excited to see how he’d mesh with the full dynamic—more chill crew moments, interactions we haven’t seen much post-time skip.

The crew’s energy is still so endearing—love watching them just be a family. But Big Mom’s unpredictability + the Poneglyph drop has me hyped for what’s next.
